1. Inspect components for damage or debris prior to use. Clean any foreign material from trusses, ladders and platform. Replace any damaged or missing parts.
2. Do not use a hammer to straighten, bend or loosen components that stick or do not fit properly.
3. Never mount a scaffold before a complete inspection. Look for the following:
a) Components are complete and functioning properly.
(2 ladders, 2 trusses, 1 platform, 4 casters)
b) Platforms are seated properly inside truss edges and beneath truss end tabs.
c) Platform surface is not excessively worn, broken or cracked.
d) Platform edge banding securely intact, not missing, bent or broken.
e) Locking pins are straight, locking threads not missing or broken. Locking nut turns freely and tightens securely.(Lubricate after each use to prevent rust and corrosion.)
f) Ladder rails are not bent or broken, base caster bushings are intact.
g) Stack pins are not bent, broken or missing.
h) Casters are in good working order:
* When brake applied, it positively stops both roll and swivel.
* Rubber is not broken, cracked or excessively worn.
* Make sure casters are locked before climbing!
* Friction ring on caster stem is intact.
Discard and replace any
damaged or broken parts!
Replace any missing parts!
